MGM Resorts International Appoints Michael Dominguez Senior Vice President of Sales

MGM Resorts International has appointed Michael Dominguez as senior vice president of sales for the company.

Dominguez will provide oversight for the company’s sales strategies in the convention, leisure and transient segments, including industry relations, diversity sales and MGM Resorts events. Additionally, he will offer strategic oversight for the company’s vertical sales efforts, manage the strategy for regional sales offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, New Jersey and Phoenix and oversee the development and execution of a companywide sales strategy for top destination accounts.

Dominguez brings over 25 years of experience to the position. Most recently, he served as vice president of global sales for Loews Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw sales efforts for 18 luxury hotels in the U.S. and Canada. He also served as vice president of sales and marketing for Palm Springs Desert Resorts CVA and as director of sales at Miramonte  Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, Calif., Sunburts Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Austin, Texas and Riviera Palm Springs in Calif.

Dominguez is a Ceritifed Hospitality Sales Executive (CHSE) from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), and he serves on the International Board of Directors for Meeting Professional International (MPI), Industry Issues and Trends Task Force for the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA), the Industry Partner Alliance for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Advisory Board for Starcite. He was also the Past President for MPI – Southern California Chapter. Most recently, he has been elected Chairman-elect for MPI’s International Board of Directors. He will assume office in July 2012 as Chairman-elect and become acting Chairman July 1, 2013.
