MGM Resorts Prepares for Rock 'n' Roll Marathon 2013 in Las Vegas

Las Vegas StripThe Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon returns to Las Vegas on November 17, and courtesy of MGM Resorts International, runners can enjoy a variety of pre- and post-run experiences:

Guests can book a Stay Well Room at MGM Grand which includes 17 health and wellness elements throughout each room. EMF protection shields guests from electromagnetic fields and black-out shades that block outdoor lighting. There is also an LED dawn simulator alarm clock that helps awaken guests.

The Official Rock ‘n’ Roll Pre-Race Yoga Session, an outdoor event that adds training regimen before the marathon at the Vdara Hotel & Spa in partnership with Lululemon. Beginning at 11 a.m. on Nov. 16, anyone interested is invited to Vdara’s pool deck for a one-hour Vinyasa Flow yoga class for runners but open to all fitness levels. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be available along with live music. Admission is free, but space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Mirage Hotel & Casino offers dining at California Pizza Kitchen, Carnegie Deli and BLT Burger. Restaurant menus or participants can enjoy 50 percent off Cravings Buffet November 16 – 18 with their marathon credentials.

On November 16, the Official Rock ‘n’ Roll Pasta Party at The Mirage will also include eight double-sided buffets of food such as salad, whole grain rolls and pasta, as well as gluten-free options, that can be topped with a choice of meat and/or vegan sauces. The event will be hosted in The Mirage Event Center and tickets can be purchased for $30.

The Pre-Race Brunch, also in The Mirage Event Center, is a gourmet meal that starts at 11 a.m. on November 17. Tickets must be picked up at the Pasta Party/Brunch booth at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday of race weekend.

After the race, Spa Bellagio’s massage rooms and wet areas will stay open until midnight for competitors. Racers can benefit from a 50-minute Marathon Custom Massage ($160) or a 20-minute Mini-Marathon Refresher Massage ($85). The 80-minute Athlete Revival ($250) is a custom sports treatment that is followed by a Cryoderm gel application. Spa Bellagio also will offer race day spa passes for $50 or a three-day pass for $70.

The Mirage Spa will have special treatments for marathon participants November 16 -18. The Runner’s Relief Pedicure ($80) and the Glute Fatigue Massage ($80 for 25 minutes or $130 for 50 minutes) are offered. Runners also can opt for the Muscle Marathon Meltdown ($260).
