October 11, 2011 By: Nicole Lowary

A public exhibit featuring rare artifacts from iconic space missions will be held at Crystals at CityCenter in Las Vegas from October 14 to 21.

The exhibit is hosted by OMEGA and Tourbillon and will feature appearances by astronauts from the landmark Gemini and Apollo NASA programs. Exhibits include a Lunar Rover, an Apollo 10 space suit, a Mars Rover, as well as OMEGA Speedmaster watches. The OMEGA Speedmaster is the official timepiece of the NASA space program and the only watch worn to the moon.

A VIP cocktail reception will be held Thursday, October 20 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Tourbillon boutique. It will honor Gemini and Apollo astronaut Lt. General Thomas Stafford and Captain Gene Cernan, an Apollo 17 astronaut and the last man to walk on the moon. Between October 20 and 31, a portion of the proceeds of sales from the reception and from all OMEGA watch sales at Tourbillon will benefit cancer care and research at Nevada Cancer Institute.

On Friday, October 21, Lt. General Stafford and Captain Cernan will join Brigadier General Charlie Duke, who flew to the moon on Apollo 15, for a panel discussion and public forum moderated by former CNN correspondent and journalist Miles O’Brien. Crystals at CityCenter will host the forum and it’s open to the public from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
