Encore, the new $2.3 billion signature resort in the Wynn collection, is now open in Las Vegas. Many are wondering just how well the new resort will do given Sin City’s current slump in visitor arrivals. Steve Wynn, the charismatic chairman, chief executive and part owner of Wynn Resorts, has expressed no fear in opening during an economic downturn. He mirrored his daredevil sense of business with a real-life stunt in an eye-catching TV commercial showing him perched atop the new resort’s curved tower of bronze glass.

Although Encore is situated next door to flagship property Wynn Las Vegas, the new resort is a distinct destination in its own right, with its own repertoire of suites, culinary offerings and leisure activities. The resort's 2,034 suites offer views from two-story glass windows, advanced technologies and Wynn Dream Beds. Each Resort Suite spans more than 700 square feet and the Tower Suites measure up to 5,800 square feet. Highlights include five signature restaurants, 11 retail outlets, seven bars and lounges, nightclub and a spa and salon. An atrium and European-inspired pool area are centerpieces at the resort. Encore also houses 60,000 square feet of custom-designed, highly configurable event space.
