If you have a film buff headed to Brooklyn soon, there’s a new spot they should definitely check out: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

The Austin-based cinema chain, known for its strict “no talking, no texting” policy, will be opening its flagship New York theater at 445 Gold Street, at the intersection of Fulton and Flatbush Avenues. The theater will offer diverse programming throughout its seven screens, blending the latest arthouse and independent releases with Hollywood’s most popular blockbusters. The venue will also have the ability to screen both 35mm film and digital formats, allowing for a wide range of material.

Alamo Drafthouse’s series “Terror Tuesday”, “Video Vortex” and “Girlie Night” programs will also be part of the cinema’s lineup. Additionally, Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn will provide in-theater dining in all seven screens, including a full menu influenced by local flavors and ingredients. The theater bar will serve a variety of local beers on tap as well as hand-crafted cocktails.

The theater’s “no-talking, no-texting” policy will be in full effect during all special events, multi-course "film feasts" and live performances.
