Tauck Launches Tour of New York's Hudson Valley

hudson valleyTauck reports the launch of a new tour that begins in Montreal, Canada, and then travels south to explore some of New York’s most iconic lakes, its scenic Adirondack Mountains, and its historic and culturally rich Hudson Valley. Tauck will offer departures of “The Hudson Valley” from June through October, with prices for the 10-day itinerary from $4,490 per person (double occupancy, plus air).

“The Hudson Valley and upstate New York are being rediscovered by travelers, and with good reason,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar.  “They’ve influenced our history, art and culture for hundreds of years, and our new itinerary actually visits sites connected to each of the last five centuries.”

The region’s past is also reflected in historic hotel properties featured on the new Tauck itinerary. Tauck guests traveling on “The Hudson Valley” will also be treated to several of Tauck’s “Stories by Ken Burns” video narratives that will provide the filmmaker’s perspectives on the history and culture of areas included in the new itinerary.

The vignettes, part of Tauck’s “Ken Burns American Journeys” partnership, will explore the history of the U.S.-Canadian border and its role during Prohibition and the Underground Railroad era, the Roosevelts (the subject of a new Burns documentary premiering in 2014), and the influence of New York City on Burns’s life and films.

The Hudson Valley program is fully inclusive with all sightseeing, admission to all attractions, airport transfers, luggage handling, most meals and gratuities, included in the price, Tauck says.
