White Lodging has announced the promotion of David Bohac to general manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Austin, TX. The inn is near the city’s Arboretum shopping and dining area.

Prior to his promotion, Bohac spent the previous year as the sales manager at this property. He worked to exceed budgeted sales revenues and also was effective in building solid client relationships.

Bohac has more than 15 years in the hospitality field and received awards during various management positions. He has been with White Lodging for the past six years.

His first position with White Lodging was as the assistant front desk manager at the Austin Airport Marriott South. In March 2007, he became that hotel's restaurant manager. In this role, Bohac and his team were acknowledged by White Lodging’s corporate office as the Most Improved Food & Beverage Team for 2008.

Moving on, Bohac became the services operations manager at the Courtyard by Marriott, nearby the University of Texas at Austin campus. At this property, Bohac participated in a task force which allowed him to experience the general manager role at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott at the San Antonio Airport. He was also nominated for Operations Manager of the Year in 2009.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in restaurant, hotel and institutional management from Texas Tech University.

Now at the helm of the Austin property, Bohac says he hopes to utilize his skills and experience to move guest services scores and top-line sales goals to new heights.
