North Rim of Grand Canyon to Open May 15 After Winter Snooze

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — The North Rim of the Grand Canyon will reopen May 15, offering services again with the end of the area's annual winter closure.

Park officials say the North Rim gate will reopen at 7:30 a.m. and that the visitor center and other services provided by the National Park Service will be available beginning at 8 a.m.

Concession operations that provide lodging, meals and trail rides resume at various times on May 15.

The South Rim remains open during the winter.
