After hindering cruise itineraries near Mobile, AL Monday, Hurricane Ida has downgraded to Tropical Depression Ida this afternoon as it heads toward the Florida Panhandle. With maximum sustained winds near 35 mph, Ida's only threat to Florida for now appears to be minor flooding.

In fact, tourism officials in Panama City Beach are reporting the storm had little impact on the destination, which remains "unscated" and anticipates sunny skies for this weekend’s Emerald Coast Cruizin family event.  “We were well prepared for the storm and thankfully it passed through quickly,"said Dan Rowe, president/CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. The annual festival features thousands of classic cars, hot rods, custom cars and trucks for a three-day event, November 12 – 14.
