Typhoon Minduelle made landfall near Tokyo early Monday, before moving inland and weakening back to a tropical storm, Weather.com reports. 11 people were injured, and there was scattered damage in the area where the storm hit.
According to the Philippine Star, the storm canceled flights from Delta and Philippine Airlines in Tokyo and at Manila International Airport. Additionally, the Japanese government has warned residents of possible landslides, floods and heavy rains in the areas affected by the storm.
Delta has issued a travel waiver for customers with flights affected by the storm booked to, from or through Tokyo-Haneda (HND) and Tokyo-Narita (NRT) airports. Customers whose flights is canceled or significantly delayed are entitled to a refund, or may make a one-time change to their ticket without fee. The travel must have been originally scheduled for August 21-23, and the ticket must be reissued on or before August 26 for travel to begin no later than August 26.
