Report: British Airways, Emirates Cancel Flights Due to Ebola

british airwaysBritish Airways and Emirates Airline have cancelled flights out of West African countries affected by the Ebola virus, CBS News reports. British Airways announced the cancellations August 5, while Emirates made its announcement August 2. 

The cancellation affects 13 British Airways flights to Europe this week from Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. There are no direct flights to the U.S. scheduled from the affected countries. Brussels Airlines, Air France and Delta are continuing to operate flights in the region.

Since August 1 there have been 1,009 confirmed cases of the virus, with 887 deaths.
