The Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is renewing support for the Charitable Matching Program of ASTA’s political action committee (ASTAPAC), ASTA reports.
Since 2010, the ASTAPAC Charitable Matching Program has provided ASTA chapters that reach PAC fundraising and participation goals with matching funds to the charity of their choice (up to $25,000 per year, collectively).
In 2013, the CAC added an individual component to the program allowing individuals who donate $1,000 or more to direct matching funds equivalent to 50 percent of their contribution to the charity of their choice (up to $10,000 per year, collectively).
The program has helped ASTAPAC fundraising to grow to more than $119,000 this year compared with $51,605 raised in all of 2010.
At its Sept. 13 meeting, the CAC voted unanimously to renew its support for the Charitable Matching Program for 2015, providing up to $25,000 for the chapter component and increasing the individual component from $10,000 to $15,000.
