A veteran of 100-plus cruises, Susan J. Young, is senior contributing editor for cruises – covering ocean, river and niche cruises for Travel Agent and TravelAgentCentral.com. She also writes about travel insurance for Travel Agent, contributes to Luxury Travel Advisor and edits two consumer publications, SouthernCruising.com and SouthernTravelNews.com. From 1998 to 2006, she served as Cruise Bureau Chief and Florida Bureau Chief on staff at Travel Agent magazine, based in Florida. Over the years, Susan’s articles have been published in AAA Carolinas, Caribbean Travel & Life, several inflight magazines, Florida Living, Porthole, the Ledger (Lakeland, FL) and Onboard.com, among other publications. Previously, she served as director of public relations-marketing for US Airways; an aviation freelance writer for a McGraw-Hill Aviation Week Group publication ; and a newspaper reporter for the Lancaster Sunday News and Lebanon Daily News, both in PA. In 1998, Susan won the B. F. Goodrich Award as journalist of the year in the aviation maintenance category, as determined by judges from the Royal Aeronautical Society of Great Britain. A former member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), Susan graduated from Millersville University, Millersville, PA.
