Radisson St. Martin Resort, Marina and Spa

Travel Agent sat down with representatives of the Radisson St. Martin Resort, Marina and Spa and found out about some selling points agents can pitch for this $80 million property.

Slated to open in August, the 252-room property is about a 45-minute drive or 25-minute boat ride away form the Princess Juliana International Airport. It is comprised of 63 suites and 198 guest rooms.

The best suite is the Anse Marcel Suite, which is a bi-level with three bedrooms, a living room, a balcony and terrace and has a 50-inch TV in the living room and 42-inch TVs in the bedrooms.
This suite, and 49 others, overlook the marina. Rates for this suite run from $2,000 to $3,000 per night, depending on the season.

The marina is a full-service, 150-slip facility that can accommodate yachts of up to 90 feet. A water taxi service is also available from the marina that can take guests to Grand Case, a small fishing village that is home to dozens of fine-dining and entertainment options.

But clients don’t have to leave the resort to get some fine French Caribbean cuisine. The property’s signature restaurant is C Le Restaurant, an open-air, beachfront restaurant that offers lunch, late-afternoon appetizers and great ocean views. At night, the restaurant transforms into a gourmet dining venue and bar.

The highly touted Orient Beach, which is the site of an underwater marine reserve and coral reef, is about 10 minutes away, and a new Greg Norman-designed Temenos Golf Club on Anguilla is about 35 minutes away.

The Radisson St. Martin Resort, Marina and Spa also has a 10,000-square-foot Larimar Spa, which comes with seven treatment rooms. Seven cabanas on the beach can also be rented for the day for an additional charge of about $100.

This is a great pitch for families and couples, especially snorkel and dive enthusiasts.

The property’s Guest Enrichment Program includes such activities as cooking classes, French lessons, massage instruction, champagne and rum tastings and a Kids Club for guests four to 10 years old. The club is open every day except Sunday. Babysitting can also be arranged for about $20 an hour.

St. Martin lies in the French West Indies and is about 2½ hours from Miami and four hours from New York City.

The property offers agents a 10 percent commission. Speedboat rides, carrying a maximum of 19 people, can be booked directly through the resort. Agents who book these rides, which take 25 minutes from the airport, get add-ons of about $70 per person. Agents should call Jeffrey A. Lesker, director general of the resort, at 011-590-87-67-09 or e-mail [email protected].
