Beijing Refutes Report of Airport Closing for Olympic Opening

A spokesman from the Beijing Capital International Airport denied reports earlier this week that claimed the airport would shut down during the opening ceremonies of the upcoming Olympics, the Associated Press reports. The official said saying they are welcoming all flights to Beijing.

The denial comes amidst reports from several airlines, including Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific and Olympic sponsor Air China, that they received a notice that the airport would be closed from 8 p.m. to midnight local time in Beijing.
