Bermuda 'Beach Smash' Tournaments Set to Kick Off August 26

The Bermuda Department of Tourism, Bermuda Beach Tennis and Bermuda Volleyball Association are teaming to serve up the first Bermuda Beach Smash on the island’s famed Horseshoe Bay Beach. It is expected to be an annual event.

Visitors are invited to enjoy a weekend of hard-fought action on Bermuda’s signature pink sands, August 26-28.

The 4th Annual Bermuda Beach Tennis Tournament – governed by the International Tennis Federation – will feature the world’s best players competing for a $10,000 first-place prize in the Men’s and Ladies’ Professional Divisions, while the Spike-Fest Beach Volleyball Tournament showcases eight men’s and eight women’s two-person teams battling to play in the championship.

In addition to watching world-class beach tennis and volleyball and mingling with other beach tennis and volleyball enthusiasts, Bermuda Beach Smash 2011 will also feature nightly Dancing Under the Stars Beach Parties.

Admission is free for spectators.
