Best Western International Hires Glen MacDonell

Best Western International hired Glen MacDonell as managing director of strategic partnerships and field marketing in the sales and marketing department.

In his role, MacDonell will lead Best Western's strategic partnerships with organizations including AAA/CAA, AARP, Harley-Davidson, Costco and Michael Waltrip. Additionally, he will oversee Best Western's field marketing organization, which is comprised of marketing cooperatives throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Prior to joining Best Western, MacDonell served as director of travel programs & alliances at AAA, overseeing its North American hotel program, corporate alliance with the Walt Disney Company, as well as its airline, rail and specialty tour programs.

MacDonell joined AAA in 1999, after serving 12 years in a variety of management positions with United Airlines, Inc.

He recently served on the Advisory Council for the Airline Reporting Corporation, has been on several hospitality industry advisory boards, is a member of SKAL International and serves on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels of Seminole County, Fla.
