Big Sky Announces New Outdoor Adventures, Cultural Events and Special Lodging Packages

Big Sky, Montana has announced that it will be celebrating summer 2016 with a variety of outdoor adventures, cultural events and celebrations, along with special lodging packages from its hotels, ranches, and lodges.

Guests will be able to take advantage of hiking and biking opportunities, go fly-fishing, rock climbing and zip lining. Dining options will be available at a mountaintop restaurant, while an old style saloon and chuck wagon picnic on a riverbank is also in the works. Guests will be able to sip craft beer or Montana whiskey, or watch a professional bull riders contest. Concerts, a film festival and a “Shakespeare in the Park” event are scheduled, while visitors will be able to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the US National Park Service with a tour of the first and famous national park, Yellowstone

Located in the middle of Montana's Madison Range, the Big Sky Town Center sits at 6,200 feet and is surrounded by peaks and valleys filled with flowers and wildlife. 

The Arts Council of Big Sky’s rock concert series, Music in the Mountains, is held every Thursday evening at 7 pm in Town Center Park from June 23 to September 1. The Sixth Annual Big Sky Classical Music Festival is set for August 12-14, 2016, and Big Sky’s Fourth of July celebration includes a concert with The Tiny Band and fireworks. 

For theater fans, there is also Shakespeare in the Park at 5:30 pm on Friday, September 2, 2016, in Town Center Park. Cinema buffs can also check out top films at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival on Saturday, September 24, at Lone Peak Cinema

The Sixth Annual Big Sky Professional Bull Rider’s Competition (PBR) will be held at an arena in the Town Center on July 28-30, 2016. The Big Sky PBR will be part of the BlueDef Velocity Tour, which has won PBR Event of the Year three years in a row. It will include multiple days of bull riding, concerts, and activities. 

This summer, the National Park Service is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary on August 25, 2016, welcoming 100 years with an array of new recreational, athletic and conservation events.
