Bill Douses Bermuda, Gets Downgraded to Tropical Storm

CNN reports that Hurricane Bill was downgraded to a tropical storm earlier Monday as it headed into the northern Atlantic. At 5 a.m., the storm was generating maximum sustained winds near 70 mph as it headed east on a route that was expected to take it to the British Isles by midweek, according to a forecast map from the National Hurricane Center.

Bill doused Bermuda with rain and battered its shores with powerful surf on Saturday as it moved on a path off the U.S east coast.
