Whistler Offers Free Outdoor Concert Series

Whistler concert series.Throughout the summer, Whistler will offer a free outdoor concert series. The Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert Series offers free outdoor concerts in Whistler with a range of musical genres including country, folk, blues, rock and classical.

Lindi Ortega, Barney Bentall and The Grand Cariboo Opry, Jon and Roy, Said the Whale, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Gord Downie, The Sadies, Matt Mays, Dan Deacon, The Matinée, Corb Lund, Kuba Oms, Jarvis Church, Del Barber Band, Dallas Smith, Messenjah, Rocky Dawuni, Headwater and Matt Nathanson all take to the stage at Whistler Olympic Plaza throughout June, July and August. The free concert series begins June 28.

In July, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will return to Whistler with brass quintet, string quartets and chamber concerts. The VSO series begins July 1 to celebrate Canada Day with a free concert at 3 p.m. at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Wednesday July 2 will include brass quintet chamber concerts throughout the day with the string quartet concert in the Village on Friday, July 4 will be followed by a full orchestra performance at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

The pre-Pemberton Music Festival concert featuring Gord Downie joined by The Sadies, Dan Deacon and Matt Mays will be at Whistler Olympic Plaza on July 16. The outdoor concert series continues in August with: The Matinee and Corb Lund on August 22; Kuba Oms and Jarvis Church on August 23; Del Barber Band and Dallas Smith on August 29; Messenjah and Rocky Dawuni on August 30; and Headwater and Matt Nathanson on August 31. In addition, concerts will be held in conjunction with festivals and events throughout the summer.
