Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina Names Heather Roose New Leisure Sales Manager

scrub island resort, spa and marinaScrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, the first luxury resort development in the British Virgin Islands in more than 15 years and first member of the Autograph Collection in the Caribbean, has announced the appointment of Heather Roose as the resort's new leisure sales manager.

Roose previously served as director of food and beverage at the resort, during which time she successfully directed a staff of 30 employees and four supervisors for all four restaurant outlets, in-room service and special events and banquets, and increased revenue through aggressive sales and marketing.

In her new position, Roose will work to maintain and grow the business/transient sales market segment for the resort; increase the domestic and international leisure client base; ensure repeat business through exceptional relationship-building, negotiating and management of top-accounts; and work with corporate travel managers, travel agents and other intermediaries.

"Over the past year, Heather has excelled in her position as director of food and beverage, clearly demonstrating her knowledge and expertise in the hospitality industry, as well as her passion for the British Virgin Islands," said Scott Ward, director of sales and marketing, Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, in a written release. "We're confident she will also excel in the leisure sales arena."

Prior to joining Scrub Island Resort in June 2012, Roose served as assistant food and beverage manager for da Campo Osteria at il Lugano Suites Hotel and Residences, and catering manager/assistant manager at Sage Café in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
