Module Four Begins for Travel Leaders of Tomorrow Program

diplomaTravel Leaders Group said module four of its Travel Leaders of Tomorrow (www.travelleadersoftomorrow.com) is officially underway. The first enrollees in the educational program have progressed to their last required module prior to successful completion.

The goal of Travel Leaders of Tomorrow is to attract and train new talent into the travel industry, as well as to place qualified participants into an increasing number of travel agencies that need knowledgeable and skilled travel agent professionals.

Travel Leaders Group said the final module provides key destination knowledge and also focuses on selling cruises, honing sales and marketing skills, writing a business model and developing a short statement of agent value.

In module four, enrollees also will complete assignments in the Azamara World Academy, Celebrity Five Star Academy, Royal Caribbean International’s University of WOW, Norwegian Cruise Line’s NCL University and Viking Travel Agent Academy.

“While we’re thrilled that the fourth and final module of Travel Leaders of Tomorrow’s virtual campus is officially underway, we’re particularly proud that more than a dozen of our students have already been placed into agencies affiliated with Travel Leaders Group," said Heather Kindred, program director for Travel Leaders of Tomorrow. "This clearly demonstrates that the initial goal of the program is being realized."

Kindred said that bringing new talent into the travel industry has never been more important among our agencies, many that will face a shortage of talented agents in the near future. "By advancing Travel Leaders of Tomorrow together, we’re attracting individuals who have a passion for travel and a mind for business – a win-win for everyone," she said.

Sandy Anderson, who owns a Travel Leaders franchise location in Coon Rapids, MN, said the program is a great asset for her business: "This past year, I have been approached by more young candidates to join my company than years prior. It’s great to have an online, professional option to assist training future team members."

She said there are many conversations about how to attract young talent into the industry, but if agency owners show the excitement of such a great career and are able to offer candidates an online, professional training program, "the conversations will quickly change to other issues in our industry.”

Travel Leaders of Tomorrow’s virtual campus activities include a number of unique elements such as study halls, guest faculty (including seasoned travel agents from Tzell, Vacation.com and Nexion), and lessons on successful selling practices.

Module one launched in April 2013, module two in August 2013 and module three in December 2013. To date, participants have already successfully completed Marriott’s Hotel Excellence; the Globus family of brands University; and Delta University.
