Vacation.com Expands Supplier and Agent Training

The Training & Member Development (TMD) team of Vacation.com, reports it has already reached more than 8,000 training contacts for the year. The spike in training has been fueled by the launch of interactive, self-guided membership orientation tutorials as well as multiple training sessions with marketing guru Mike Marchev. Also, Vacation.com has added a popular Webinar on social media entitled, “Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, OH MY! Social Media for the Cowardly Lion in all of us!” along with Vacation.com’s standard training and the Executive Webinar series.

In addition, the training department has now customized on-site training programs for suppliers, a service recently initiated at Viking River Cruises’ annual sales meeting with a three-hour workshop on presentation skills best practices. The presentation generated an enthusiastic response from Viking DSMs, who labeled it “exceptional” and “the highlight of the week.”

In addition, the Vacation.com training department is scheduled to give the opening presentation at October’s CoNexion 2009, the annual conference for host agency Nexion, conducting a seminar entitled, “Being Memorable: Communicating Your Value (in the Internet Age).”

“Vacation.com is committed to providing both our member agents and Preferred Suppliers with the best training in the industry,” said Geoff Stewart, Vacation.com’s senior manager of Training & Member Development. “We get a great sense of what travel agents want to learn about during our annual Conference. The feedback from our members makes it easy for us to custom tailor new training materials that will impact their businesses immediately.”
