AmaWaterways Names Jackie Friedman Godmother of AmaViola

jackie friedmanAmaWaterways has announced that it has selected Nexion President Jackie Friedman to serve as Godmother of the new AmaViola. The ship will undergo a special blessing ceremony in Vilshofen, Germany, at the conclusion of the ship’s June 9, 2016, “Melodies of the Danube” sailing.

Friedman has served as a leader within the travel industry for more than 20 years. In 2004, she joined Nexion as vice president of operations. Only three years later, she was promoted to president and general manager, charged with focusing on membership growth, enhancing supplier relations, managing business development strategies and more. Under Friedman’s leadership, Nexion’s membership base has quadrupled, grossing more than $390 million in annual sales in 2014. In addition to her position with Nexion, Friedman serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Professional Association of Travel Hosts (PATH), along with advisory and president’s boards for CLIA, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and more.

The 158-passenger AmaViola will offer seven- and 14-night cruises along the Danube, Main, Rhine, Dutch and Belgian waterways. Accommodations will include AmaWaterways’ Twin Balconies, connecting staterooms, and cabins that offer a third bed and suites with a sleeper sofa. Travelers sailing aboard AmaViola will also be able to enjoy a newly designed salon and massage space, fitness room, sun deck and heated swimming pool with swim-up bar.
