Borton Overseas, which is a reseller for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, is launching a set of new agent initiatives that they hope will "broaden their familiarity with the UK-based line and lead to greater profitability from the niche cruise market."

"Borton Overseas is implementing completely new ways of publicizing and marketing our Fred. Olsen Cruise Line products in the American market with a greater focus on interesting itineraries, themed packages, and value," said Borton General Manager Karen Hipple.

Borton Overseas, known previously for its Scandinavian and African travel products, has offered Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines since 2002. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates five ships with voyages ranging from world cruises to two-day trips; itineraries include the Baltic, Norway, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Black Sea and around the UK.

Borton Overseas’ plans include a revamped cruise section on its website, which is to be completed by April 1. Among the new tools agents will already find there are digital brochures for Fred. Olsen’s 2009 and 2010 departures.

On March 25, Borton will roll out the first in a series of travel agent webinar training programs. There, Kate Wooldridge, Fred. Olsen's international sales manager, will provide tips and advice during the one hour session. Agent can contact Borton's Marketing Coordinator Jen Schak at 800-843-0602, ext. 21 or [email protected] for more details on the webinar.

Borton Overseas will also focus on spreading the word about Fred. Olsen's deals, including savings through March 31, 2009 on several Norway and Baltic itineraries. The sailings include six- and seven-night Norway Cruises departing April 26, June 15 and August 29 that are now priced from $641 per person.
