Carnival Corporation has promoted David Candib from director of business development to vice president of port and destination development and operations in an expansion of the Port and Destination Development Division.

Candib previously participated in a number of projects in the Caribbean, including the St. Maarten port expansion and Mystic Mountain attraction in Jamaica, and was responsible for commercial and retail tenant relations in Carnival’s three ports and destinations in the region. Candib handled operations and development for the Grand Turk Cruise Center, as well as a new port project near Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

As part of his new responsibilities, Candib will oversee all the Miami-based corporate port operations, areas of development and the port reservation system. His promotion comes during a period of expansion for the Port and Destination Development Devision, which has been renamed the Global Port and Destination Development Group and is now headed by Giora Israel, senior vice president of global port developments. As part of the expansion, the division will now include Europe and the Mediterranean as part of its operations.
