Contractor for Cayman Islands Cruise Project To be Named Next Tuesday

Travel Agent learned that the name of the contractor selected to undertake the redevelopment at the George Town, Grand Cayman cruise terminal will be released next Tuesday during a Cabinet meeting, according to Cayman Islands sources.

The Cayman Net News originally reported last Wednesday that the contractor would be known by the end of that day, October 28. According to that report, Port Authority Chairman Stefan Baraud confirmed that the announcement will be made simultaneously in Grand Cayman and in St. Lucia at the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) conference.

Overall, 13 bids were submitted by interested parties before the late September deadline closed. One was later withdrawn, setting the final number at 12.
