Costa Cruises Unveils 2007 Highlights

Costa Cruises will add 30 new destinations and 14 new itineraries for 2007 including cruises from Dubai and Singapore. The line also announced that the new Costa Serena, set for a May 2007 delivery, would use Venice as its home port. Between June and November 2007, Costa Serena will depart Venice every Sunday on seven-day cruises with stopovers in Bari, Italy; Olympia, Greece; Izmir and Istanbul, Turkey, and Dubrovnik, Croatia. With the addition of Costa Serena, the premium line will operate a fleet of 12 ships and boast a total capacity of more than 23,000 berths. Costa said its Mediterranean cruising capacity would jump 34 percent because of the new berths on both Costa Serena and Costa Concordia, which is being delivered this year. Another new highlight is that in winter 2006/2007 the Costa Fortuna will be positioned in South America for the first time.
