MSC Cruises Fields a Lineup of ‘Baseball Greats’ Sailings

Baseball fans will have the opportunity to interact with Major League Baseball legends on select seven- and 10-day Caribbean sailings of MSC CruisesMSC Poesia. Host and emcee for all of the onboard activities on each “Baseball Greats” cruise is former New York Yankees pitching star Stan Bahnsen. Among other participating players, depending on the cruise chosen, are Ken Griffey Sr., Jim Fregosi, Larry Parrish, Tommy Davis, Cookie Rojas, Juan Marichal, Gorman Thomas, Rico Petrocell, Randy Hundley and Jesse Barfield. New ‘Celebrity Reflection’ to Sail the Caribbean This Winter

The newest ship from Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Reflection, claims a number of industry firsts, including AquaClass Suites, Signature Suites and the ultra-luxe Reflection Suite—the first to include a glass shower extending out over the edge of the ship. The ship also will feature designer boutiques, signature specialty dining venues, a glamorous main dining room and expanded AquaSpa by Elemis experiences. Currently sailing in Europe, Celebrity Reflection will cross the Atlantic Ocean to arrive in Miami on December 1 and depart for its inaugural Caribbean sailing December 5—the first in a series of seven-night Eastern Caribbean itineraries.

Royal Caribbean Upgrades Amenities Onboard ‘Serenade’

Royal Caribbean International is providing additional Oasis-class amenities to even more ships. The next ship in line is Serenade of the Seas, which is scheduled for an extensive revitalization this fall. Serenade will reemerge from its dry dock with a new lineup of specialty restaurants, which will include Giovanni’s Table Italian restaurant, Izumi Asian cuisine and the Chef’s Table dining experience, as well as dining packages for guests such as the Royal Choice Dining Package, which includes dinner at Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table and Izumi for $55 per guest, or the Chef’s Table Dining Package for $130 per guest, which includes all of the specialty restaurants and the Chef’s Table.

Silversea Announces 2014 World Cruise Itinerary

Silversea Cruises has revealed the itinerary for its World Cruise 2014, a 113-day odyssey from Los Angeles to Barcelona aboard Silver Whisper, January 6 to April 30, 2014. Guests aboard World Cruise 2014 will visit 54 destinations in 29 countries, enjoying 12 overnight stays along the way. Silver Whisper will follow a westward path across the Pacific to call on Polynesia, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Australia and New Zealand. From there, the ship will sail up to the island of Koror and then head west to spend a month exploring Asian cultures—in China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, India and Myanmar. Silver Whisper will conclude its global tour calling on modern capitals and ancient cities in the Mediterranean.
