CruiseCompete has released its CruiseTrends report for the month of March 2017, which is sponsored by EyeforTravel Ltd. Data included in the report is meant to provide information on the most popular cruise trends among consumers, including the top ships, lines and travel dates for premium, luxury and river cruising.

The “Most Popular Cruise Lines” based on the total number of quote requests for each cruise line in the given month are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Carnival Cruise Line

2. Luxury: Oceania Cruises

3. River: Viking River Cruises

In second place is Royal Caribbean International for premium/contemporary, Cunard for luxury and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises in the river category.

The “Most Popular Cruise Ships” based on the total number of quote requests for each ship are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Norwegian Escape (changed from Oasis of the Seas last month)

2. Luxury: Queen Mary 2

3. River: S.S. Maria Theresa (changed from American Queen last month)

Next in popularity are Harmony of the Seas for premium/contemporary, Azamara Quest for luxury and Queen of the Mississippi for river.

The “Most Popular Cruise Regions” based on the total number of quote requests for each region are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Caribbean

2. Luxury: Europe

3. River: Europe

Coming in second place are North America for premium/contemporary, Mediterranean for luxury and North America for river.

The “Most Popular Cruise Departure Ports” based on the total number of quote requests for each departure port are as follows:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Miami, Florida

2. Luxury: Miami, Florida

3. River: Budapest, Hungary (changed from Amsterdam, the Netherlands last month)

Next in popularity are Fort Lauderdale, Florida for premium/contemporary, Civitavecchia, Italy for luxury and Amsterdam, the Netherlands for the river category. 

The “Most Popular Cruise Ports Visited” based on the total number of quote requests for each port visited during cruise itineraries, excluding departure ports are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Cozumel, Mexico (changed from Nassau, Bahamas last month)

2. Luxury: Kotor, Montenegro (changed from Gustavia, Saint Barthélemy last month)

3. River: Vienna, Austria

Second in popularity are Nassau, Bahamas for premium/contemporary, Livorno, Italy for luxury and Linz, Austria for river.

The “Most Popular Countries Visited” category, based on the total number of quote requests for each country visited during cruise itineraries, excluding countries of departure, are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Mexico (changed from Bahamas last month)

2. Luxury: Italy (changed from United States last month)

3. River: Germany

Second are Bahamas for premium/contemporary, Spain for luxury and Austria for river. 

The “Most Popular Cabin Types” based on the total number of quote requests for each cabin type are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: Balcony

2. Luxury: Balcony

3. River: Outside (changed from Balcony last month)

The “Number of Cabins Requested” based on most popular number of cabins per request:

1. Premium/Contemporary: One

2. Luxury: One

3. River: One

Second are two cabins for premium/contemporary, two cabins for luxury and two cabins for river.

The “Most Popular Cruise Itinerary Lengths” based on most requested itinerary lengths are:

1. Premium/Contemporary: seven nights

2. Luxury: seven nights

3. River: eight nights

Second are five nights for premium/contemporary, 10 nights for luxury and seven nights for river.

The “Most Popular Sailing Months Requested

(Based on the most requested months)

1. Premium/Contemporary: March 2017
