Crystal Introduces Selling Tools and Promotions Aimed At Mediterranean

Crystal Cruises is offering a new slate of programs and selling tools to help travel agents increase their 2008 Mediterranean and Baltic bookings. Crystal is incentivizing agents to sell more Mediterranean and Baltic by creating a promotion that earns agents complimentary Mediterranean cruises in veranda staterooms. It also has designed a new sales kit to assist agents and launched a family promotion.

Here's how the promotions work. Agents booking any three new staterooms on most Crystal Mediterranean and Baltic cruises can sail free with a guest in a veranda stateroom on a choice of most Med cruises.

Julie Dibble, a spokesperson for Crystal, told Travel Agent that the reasons for the new promotion were twofold. One it entices agents to sell more Crystal cruises, but, two, it also gives agents the opportunity to experience a Crystal cruise firsthand. "It helps educate them," Dibble said.

For families, Crystal is unveiling a family package featuring a host of amenities, including one complimentary berth accommodation for very 10 paid berths. This especially pays off for multi-generational family travel or groups. The promotion is available on Crystal Serenity itineraries from May to October 19 and also includes pre-paid gratuities for the group, $100 per person shipboard credits, a group portrait, free third berth for guests ages 17 and under and a $500 credit toward a Crystal Private Adventure of $2,500 or more.
