Crystal River Cruises Welcomes New Crystal Mahler

Crystal River Cruises has officially welcomed the Crystal Mahler to its fleet in Germany during a handover ceremony at the MV Werften Shipyard.

The second “Rhine Class” river ship was received by Crystal President and CEO Tom Wolber and christened by the ship's godmother and American volleyball star, Lauren Barfield. Barfield welcomed in the Crystal Mahler with a traditional German blessing and champagne bottle breaking.

“Welcoming this stunning new ship to Crystal’s celebrated fleet is incredibly gratifying, as we continue to expand the celebrated Crystal Experience to a broader audience of discerning world travelers,” said Wolber. “Like her sister ships, Crystal Mahler surpasses all previously established standards of luxury in the river cruising industry.”

The new vessel will sail on seven, eleven, and 16-day voyages along the Rhine and Danube Rivers to locations like Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Netherlands, and Hungary. Crystal River Cruises will continue to expand as two more ships, the Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel, will join the fleet in 2018.

As a “Rhine Class” ship, the Crystal Mahler is able to hold 106 guests in its luxury suites complete with French balconies, walk-in closets, dual vanities in the bathroom, and butler service in every room. Each suite will come standard with robes and slippers, personal iPads, 42-inch flat-screen HD TV’s, complementary Wi-Fi, and Nespresso machines.

The luxury experience can be found outside the rooms as well in the ship’s spa and fitness center and its multiple, open-seating eateries including the Waterside Restaurant, the Bistro Café, the Vintage Room, and the Palm Court.
