Cunard Line, operator of the luxury ocean liners Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, just hosted the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s “Victory is Ours!” fundraising luncheon.
The event was held onboard the Queen Victoria during the vessel's call in Los Angeles, a stop on its World Voyage cruise.
All the funds raised at the luncheon will aid in the multi-million dollar campaign required for the preservation and conservation of the HMS Victory, one of the world’s most famous warships.
The “Victory is Ours!” event included lectures by vice admiral Sir Adrian Johns, professor Dominic Tweddle; director general of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Stanley Birge; vice president of Cunard, and master of Queen Victoria commodore Christopher Rynd.
Cunard will host another similar fundraising event for the National Museum of the Royal Navy later this year aboard its flagship Queen Mary 2 in New York.
