Disney Cruise Line recently released details regarding its new 4,000-passenger Disney Fantasy ship, which is scheduled to debut in March 2012. Among the unique features is a new dinner show, “Animation Magic;” a European-inspired entertainment area just for guests ages 18 and older; and a new “Aladdin”-themed performance productions.

The Disney Fantasy is the sister ship to the Disney Dream, which entered service in January 2011. The Fantasy will sail weeklong Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, F.L., with its maiden voyage scheduled for March 31, 2012.

“Animation Magic”

Onboard the Disney Fantasy, guests can take part in a dinner show, “Animation Magic,” which is similar to the Animator’s Palate venue that can be found onboard the Disney Dream.

Like Animator’s Palate on the Disney Dream, the restaurant resembles an actual animator’s studio and throughout.

Upon entering Animator’s Palate, guests are surrounded by artwork featuring their favorite Disney characters. The dining experience also includes musical and visual performance numbers and special effects that highlight Disney’s long history with animation.

Europa Nighttime Entertainment District

On the Disney Fantasy, adult guests will have access to Europa, a nighttime entertainment district exclusively for guests 18 and older that features bars and lounges such as a La Piazza bar, a Skyline bar, an O’Gill’s Pub, an Ooh La La lounge and The Tube , a nightclub.

“Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular”

At the 1,340-seat Walt Disney Theatre, Disney Cruise Line will debut a brand-new Broadway-style show, “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” inspired by the classic animated Disney film, “Aladdin.”

A number of the songs from the movie will be featured in the 45-minute musical production. Composer Alan Menken, who created the original soundtrack with songwriters Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, also composed an original song for the stage production, entitled "To Be Free."

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Fantasy, younger passengers can get makeovers to resemble their favorite Disney princesses and pirates. Captain Mickey Mouse, Princess Minnie Mouse and First Mate Minnie Mouse and Under the Sea packages will also be offered.

On pirate party nights aboard the Disney Fantasy, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will transform into the Pirate’s League, where boys, girls and grownups can get ready for the pirate life.

Atrium Lobby – Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse

The Fantasy’s three-deck atrium lobby, which will feature Art Nouveau-inspired details and patterns will also be home to a bronze statue, “Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse,” that was inspired by the travel of the 1920s and 1930s.

Royal Court Restaurant

The Fantasy’s Royal Court restaurant will take design inspiration from the classic Disney films “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Sleeping Beauty.”

The Disney Fantasy will depart on her maiden voyage March 31, 2012, and will sail out of Port Canaveral on seven-night Caribbean itineraries, alternating between eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel) itineraries. Special Eastern Caribbean sailings in November and December 2012 will stop at St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico.  All Disney Fantasy itineraries include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Rates for the seven-night Caribbean cruise itineraries on the Disney Fantasy start at $959 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
