Disney Cruise Line's Star Wars Day at Sea program is set to return for 2017. That year the line will expand its Star Wars sailings, with the Disney Fantasy offering itineraries in both the Eastern and Western Caribbean for the first time, and nearly double the number of departures -- 15 cruises, up from eight in 2016.

Each sailing features a full day of official appearances from Star Wars characters, a deck party and fireworks, Star Wars-themed family and youth activities, at-sea screenings of Star Wars films, unique food and beverage offerings, and special merchandise.

There will also be trivia games, a costume celebration in the ship's atrium and, for young guests, the "Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple" adventure that lets them learn the ways to the Jedi and face off against Darth Vader. For older children, the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab will have Star Wars-themed arts and crafts, games and activities. Guests can also watch Rogue One, the first in a new series of standalone Star Wars films, as well as all seven films in the Star Wars saga. In the eventing, a deck party with Star Wars characters will culminate in a pyrotechnic display set to a medley of Star Wars music.

Star Wars Day at Sea will be on Disney Fantasy seven-night cruises sailing from Port Canaveral on January 7, 14, 21, 28; February 4, 11, 18, 25; March 4, 11, 18, 25; April 1, 8 and 15, 2017.

Departing January 7, 21; February 4, 18; March 4, 18; April 1 and 15, 2017, the western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel, Mexico; Falmouth, Jamaica; Grand Cayman and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay. Departing January 14, 28; February 11, 25; March 11, 25; and April 8, 2017, the eastern Caribbean itinerary includes Tortola, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay.
