Europa 2 to Sail South Pacific in 2016 and 2017

Europa 2For the 2016-2017 season, the Europa 2 will be featuring new destinations and themed cruises to its itineraries. 

Starting in December 2016, guests will be able to visit the South Pacific when the Europa 2 docks for the first time off the coast of Fiji and New Caledonia. The ship will then sail to New Zealand and Australia, stopping in Auckland, Wellington, Burnie, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Middle and Hamilton Island and Sydney

Other new ports include Taiwan, Thailand and Cuba (with stops in Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Isla de la Juventud and Havana). A northern route from Greenland to Canada will also operate in August and September 2016, stopping in Nuuk, Sisimiut, Disko Bay, St. John’s, Sanguenay, Quebec and Montreal. Two North American cruises with calls in New York, Boston, Cape Cod, Charleston, Miami, Key West and New Orleans will also set sail in September 2016.  

In addition, in May 2016, the Europa 2 will set out on its first surprise cruise, where only the start and end ports (Istanbul and Piraeus) are revealed to passengers.

A new onboard fitness program, BE.YOU, provides a personal body analysis that is used to develop an individual training and nutritional program for participants. Maria Höfl-Riesch, Germany’s most successful Winter Olympian, will join two cruises in May and November 2016 to train alongside guests.

The fashion2sea cruise will focus on fashion and style, with famous designers presenting their collections on board. The voyage will feature fashion shows, a pop-up-store, make-up workshops, and fashionable shore excursions. The art2sea cruise will include exhibitions in Boston and New York and host popular artists who can provide behind the scenes look at the international art world. Various artworks will be showcased the public areas and suites on the ship, including 890 originals by such artists as Gerhard Richter, Ólafur Elíasson, David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Adam Fuss and Hans Hartung, Jeppe Hein, Georg Küttinger, Ingrid von Kruse, Eva Hild, Minjung Kim, Cornelius Völker, Rupprecht Mathies, Kubach & Kropp, Tenka Gammelgaard, Christiane Baumgartner and Christian Schoppe.

Another special-format option is talk2christiansen, where Sabine Christiansen, a former German TV presenter and award-winning journalist, will present her exclusive talk-show format aboard the Europa 2. She will welcome famous international politicians, Nobel Prize laureates, entrepreneurs, experts, best-selling authors and public figures to discuss contemporary issues, tailored to the respective cruise destination.
