Four Carnival Ships Earn Perfect 100 Percent Health Inspection Scores

Four Carnival Cruise Lines ships earned perfect 100 scores on their most recent public health inspections this past month. Carnival Liberty, Carnival Magic and Carnival Triumph each scored 100 on their respective United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspections, while Carnival Splendor earned a perfect score during its inspection by Health Canada. This marks the 12th time a Carnival ship has earned a perfect health inspection score this year.

To earn a 100 score, cruise ships must receive perfect marks on all of the items that comprise comprehensive checklists from either U.S.P.H. or Health Canada.

The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. or Canadian port, evaluate vessels on a wide range of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are evaluated, as well.

Carnival Liberty sails year-round Caribbean departures from Port Canaveral, Fla., while Carnival Triumph and Carnival Magic operate Caribbean cruises from Galveston, Texas. Carnival Splendor operates a seasonal program of eastern Canada cruises from New York.
