Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Offers the 2014/2015 International Expedition Cruises Brochure

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises announced the arrival of their 2014-2015 expeditions brochure, offering eleven itineraries operated in English and German. The small expedition ships, MS Hanseatic and MS Bremen will be traveling to Siberia, the Chukchi Peninsula and Wrangle Island, Antarctica, the Chilean Fjords, Cape Verde, the Amazon, Alaska, and the Northwest Passage in 2014-2015.

New itinerary and destination – Expedition Siberia

During an expedition on the Hanseatic, guests will explore the region of Primorye. This itinerary makes stops in Pusan/Republic of Korea, Siberia/Russia, Rimsky Islands, Vladivostok and Rishiri and Otaru Japan. The Hanseatic is one of the few non-Russian ships to set out on this cruising adventure along the Siberian coast.

This 15-day itinerary is from May 11-26, 2014, from Shanghai/China to Otaru/Japan, rates start at $9,360 per person/ based on double occupancy, cruise-only.

New itinerary and destination – Wrangel Island and Chukchi Peninsula

The Hanseatic sets course for the Chukchi Peninsula and its coasts to the east and north for wildlife observations. The ship first heads for the first time to Wrangel Island. The Hanseatic will stay here for four days as you explore Wrangel Island. 

This 15-day itinerary is from July 29-Aug. 13, 2014, from Nome/Alaska to Nome Alaska, (includes a charter flight from Vancouver to Nome) rates start at $11,280 per person/ based on double occupancy, not including travel arrangements to Vancouver.

In 2014, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Northwest Passage will be offered with a shorter itinerary, through the High Artic, along the icy coast of Greenland and the islands off of Canada.

This 19-day itinerary is from Aug. 18-Sept. 6, 2014, from Kangerlussuaq/Greenland to Reykjavik/Iceland, rates for this itinerary start at $12,800 per person/ based on double occupancy, cruise-only. 

Discovering Antarctica

In addition to observing bird colonies, guests will also have the opportunity to explore the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, bathe in the hot springs on Deception Island and observe whales in the Antarctic Sound.

Antarctica and the Australia and New Zealand’s Sub Antarctic Circle: This 26-day itinerary on the Hanseatic is from Jan. 25 - Feb. 21, 2014, from Ushuaia/Argentina to Bluff/New Zealand, with stops in Macquarie Island/Australia and Auckland Island/New Zealand, rates start at $20,550 per person.

Antarctica: This 18-day itinerary on the Hanseatic is from Jan. 22-Feb. 9, 2015, from Ushuaia to Ushuaia, (includes a roundtrip charter flight from Buenos Aires) rates start at $13,700 per person.
