Magnificabody

MSC Cruises announced that MSC Magnifica, currently under construction, will be sailing a series of fall foliage cruises from New York and Quebec in 2010 before journeying to Fort Lauderdale to join MSC Lirica for the 2010-11 Caribbean season.

MSC Magnifica is ideal for fall foliage cruises,” said Richard E. Sasso, president and CEO of MSC Cruises (USA), Inc. “With nearly 80 percent outside staterooms and a magrodome or retractable roof over the swimming pool, guests can appreciate the splendor and majesty of the outdoors throughout the cruise.”

MSC Magnifica’s first appearance is scheduled for March 2010 and will depart Venice on September 4, 2010 on an 18-night transatlantic voyage to New York City. The calls include Bari, Valetta, Malaga, Cadiz, Lisbon, Ponta Delgada and King’s Wharf (Bermuda). Magnifica will arrive in New York City on September 22.

After arriving in New York, the ship is scheduled for four more itineraries, including a 10-night roundtrip cruise that leaves New York City on September 22 and makes calls in Sydney, Charlottetown, Quebec, Halifax and Newport.

The itineraries also include a seven-night New York City-to-Quebec cruise, departing October 2 and calling in Halifax, Charlottetown and Corner Brook; a seven-night Quebec-to-New York City cruise, departing October 9 and calling in Sydney, Bar Harbor, Boston and Newport; and a seven-night New York City-to-Quebec cruise, departing October 16 and calling in Halifax, Sydney and Charlottetown.

For travelers interested in a 14- or 17-day roundtrip experience, the itineraries can be combined.
