MSC Cruises Notes Coming of Musica and Orchestra

MSC Cruises newest ship, the MSC Musica, will be delivered in June, followed by the MSC Orchestra in 2007. In keeping with maritime tradition, two coins were soldered Monday inside the keel of the Orchestra at a shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises, and Patrick Boissier, president of the Alstom Marine shipyard, placed the coins as signs of good luck for the ship's long life on the sea. The ceremony also commemorated the growing business relationship and goodwill between MSC Cruises and Alstom Marine, which have been working together for four years. In addition to Musica and Orchestra, the line has also contracted with the shipyard to build two 133,500-ton post-Panamax vessels, with delivery of the MSC Fantasia in 2008 and MSC Serenata in 2009.
