MSC Cruises Offers Baseball Greats Theme Cruises

MSC Cruises is hosting “Baseball Greats” theme cruises to the Caribbean with former Major League Baseball stars aboard the MSC Poesia, with prices starting at $549 plus government fees and taxes.

This is the eighth year MSC Cruises has hosted the Baseball Greats theme cruises. Former New York Yankees pitcher Stan Bahnsen is the host and emcee for the onboard activities for each cruise, which include guest and player interaction in the form of a player-hosted trivia game, a question and answer session, a guest pitching contest and a live story-telling session.

Baseball players also host clinics for hitting, fielding, base running and defense strategy, as well as a free autograph session.

The cruises are round trip from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and occur on the following dates:

November 19, a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise with Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers hall-of-fame pitcher Ferguson Jenkins, Glenn Beckert, Frank Howard, Bill Russell and Stan Bahnsen.

December 6, a 10-night Western Caribbean cruise with Tommy Davis of the L.A. Dodgers, Amos Otis of the Kansas City Royals, Jack Billingham of the Cincinnati Reds, Dave Campbell of the Tigers and Padres and Stan Bahnsen.

January 14, a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise with Ken Griffey Sr. of the Cincinnati Reds, Jim Fregosi of the California Angels, Darold Knowles of the Oakland A’s, Stan Bahnsen and one more player to be named.

February 18, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise with Vida Blue of the Oakland A’s, Randy Hundley of the Chicago Cubs, Jessie Barfield of the Toronto Blue Jays, Cookie Rojas of the Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals and Stan Bahnsen.

March 3, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise with Gorman Thomas of the Milwaukee Brewers, John Lieber of the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, Tony Taylor of the Philadelphia Phillies, Ken Berry of the Chicago White Sox and Stan Bahnsen.
