Cabedelo, Paraiba, BrazilStarting this fall through next spring, MSC Cruises will introduce dance to its onboard program. With daily dance lessons at beginner and intermediate levels, guests can learn Tango, Mambo, Salsa, Samba and Cha Cha, as well as other ballroom and popular dances. This season instructors include Elaine Santana and Alex de Oliveira of the Axel Dance Company and Petra and Norbert Backhausen of the Tanzschule Backhausen.

On MSC's dance cruises, passengers can take part in classes in the ship's lounges or on deck, competitions and talent shows, costumed with special themed nights (Carnival Party, Super 60s and 70s Revival, Tropical Dance Night and Tango Night). All participants will receive certificates and competition winners will receive prizes. Dance classes will be scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon, 3 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. onboard with an evening performance by all instructors.

Five dance cruise dates, ship and itineraries start with the MSC Armonia. Departing Venice September 20 on an 18-night voyage, from $1,049, the cruise will call in Croatia, Tunisia, Spain, Portugal's Madeira, the Canary Islands, before disembarking in Santos, Brazil.

Leaving Venice October 31, the MSC Musica will travel 18 nights to Rio de Janeiro. Starting from $969, the ship will visit Croatia, Malta, Spain, Madeira, the Canary Islands and Brazil.

Aboard the MSC Orchestra, passengers will depart Genoa on a 17-night cruise November 11. From $1,049, the trip will take guests through Spain, Portugal, Morocco, the Canary Islands and Brazil.

Departing Venice November 25, the MSC Opera will explore Greece, Malta, Spain, Morocco, the Canary Islands and Brazil from $969, before wrapping up in Santos.

From Buenos Aires to Genoa, the MSC Lirica will take travelers on a 21-night journey through Brazil, the Canary Islands, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Italy, before concluding in Genoa.

From December to February, MSC Opera, MSC Musica, MSC Lirica and MSC Orchestra will feature seven-night dance cruises from December to February. These will travel in South America along the coasts of Argentina and Brazil, roundtrip from Santos, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.
