MSC Cruises and Samsung have announced a new partnership in which Samsung will supply MSC's new Seaside generation of ships, starting with MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside, with digital solutions and devices. The new ships are set to debut in June and December 2017.
Under the new agreement, Samsung will equip all of MSC's next-generation ships with devices ranging from cabin TVs and public screens to specialized equipment in the ships’ medical centers. Notable devices include:
- Visual displays: In-cabin flat screen HDTV’s, public screens and displays, ad hoc digital signage solutions like augmented reality mirrors
- Mobile solutions: Smartphones, tablets and accessories for virtual reality and 360° digital experience
- Medical equipment: Expert technology for on-board medical centers
- Printing solutions: In support of MSC Cruises’ business needs
The new agreement was signed in Milan, Italy, at an international media event at Samsung’s local headquarters, the “Samsung District”.
