Oceania Charters Insignia to Hapag-Lloyd

Hapag-Lloyd will soon have a new cruise ship to manuever. Oceania Cruises has chartered its 684-guest Insignia to the German cruise brand  for two years, effective April 2012. At the same time Oceania charters out Insignia, it will accept delivery of the 1,250-guest Riviera.

During the contract period of the charter, Oceania Cruises fleet will consist of four ships: Regatta and Nautica, which carry 684 guests apiece, and Marina and Riviera, both of which carry 1,250. Insignia will rejoin Oceania Cruises in April 2014.

Hapag-Lloyd has long been known as a luxury cruise player, more so in Europe. Its Europa is regularly noted as one of the top luxury cruise ships in the world.
