Oceania Cruises has wrapped a top-to-bottom re-build of Sirena. The vessel has 342 newly revamped staterooms, along with some additional refinements following the work done to the line’s Insignia.
Additional enhancements include:
- Brand-new entry doors for all suites and staterooms
- Full-length mirrors in all suites and staterooms
- Additional 100-volt sockets on each side of the bed in all accommodations
- New wall sconces in the Spa
- Additional crystal chandeliers in the public spaces and stair lobbies
Also included in the vessel’s transformation are elements of the multi-million-dollar art collection. Oceania Cruises says these works are unique, even personal expressions that are emblematic of the brand’s personal nature.
New Artwork
Hanging in the re-styled Bar Istas is an original by Jacques Pepin, which was specially commissioned for the Sirena. Pepin, a chef known for his Emmy-award-winning cooking shows on PBS, sees parallels between cooking and painting as artistic expression.
He also did a piece for “his daughter’s ship,” as Claudine Pepin christened the Sirena when it began service in 2016.
At the center of the ship, the French-glass mirror rests at the top of the ship’s Reception Lobby. The Grand Staircase has a hand-painted willow tree symbolizing balance, learning, growth, and harmony.
Nearby in the Reception Lobby is a commissioned piece by Soumiya Lakshmi Krishnaswamy that hangs next to the portrait of Claudine Pepin. Krishnaswamy is a life-long friend of Claudine Pepin and was her roommate in college.
This renovation is part of the $100+ million OceaniaNEXT brand enhancement program. Another vessel, Riviera, was recently transformed under this program. A slideshow of the renovated ship photos can be found here.
