Travel agents can become wedding experts and help their clients plan for dream ceremonies at sea with Princess Academy’s new weddings course.

Part of the company’s comprehensive online training program, the weddings course offers agents all the information they need to increase their knowledge of Princess’ “Tie the Knot” program, and take advantage of the destination wedding trend.

The new course gives agents the knowledge to become the Princess wedding expert and help clients choose from among the line’s customizable wedding packages. Agents will not only be able to help happy couples plan for their romantic day, but can build their business with bookings for family and friends joining the wedding festivities.

In addition, the course gives agents sales tips and background on all of Princess’ romantic onboard activities, including the renewal of vows program, honeymoon and anniversary packages, and even the dramatic Engagement Under the Stars option, where proposals are shown on the ship’s big screen.

Princess offers a range of destination wedding choices and is one of the few lines to offer romantic ceremonies at sea performed by the ship’s captain. With options also in port before departure and in exotic ports of call as well, agents will find the perfect Princess wedding package for their clients.

“Weddings at sea have been a popular feature aboard Princess ships since we pioneered the concept more than a decade ago,” said Jan Swartz, Princess executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. “This topic has been one of our most requested at Princess Academy, and the course has been designed to give agents valuable insight on how to help their clients plan a Princess wedding, and also gain new customers by booking the wedding guests.”

Offering more than 30 courses, Princess Academy provides agents with an extensive curriculum that offers valuable product and sales training. The program is designed to help agents build their business by becoming experts on a wide range of topics, earning their “stripes” as they progress through four levels: First Officer, Staff Captain, Captain and finally Commodore. They also earn valuable rewards, including onboard perks and eligibility for a graduation cruise.
