Scenic Cuts Steel on New Scenic Eclipse

Scenic marked the official start of production on its new Discovery Yacht, the Scenic Eclipse, with a steel cutting ceremony at the Uljanik Shipyard JSC in Pula, Croatia, last month. The 228-passenger mega yacht, designed especially for polar expedition cruising conditions, is scheduled for its inaugural voyage in August 2018.

Scenic Eclipse has been designed by a collaboration of internal and external naval architects including Foreship in Finland and and Oliver Design from Spain, and the ship is being built by Uljanik Group in Croatia. The interiors have been designed by Karen Moroney.

Onboard, guests will be able to enjoy a near 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio, six restaurants, numerous spacious bars and lounges, a 5,000-sq. ft. spa, a gym, multiple pools, all-verandah suites that range from 350 to 2,500 sq. ft., a 240-seat theatre, two helicopters, a seven-seat submarine, and more.

Scenic Eclipse will sail in the polar regions of Antarctica and the Arctic, the Mediterranean, the countries on the west coast of Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean.
