Seabourn Encore, the newest ship from Seabourn, just marked a major construction milestone when it held a traditional coin ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, where two commemorative gold coins were welded to the ship's mast. Seabourn Encore is set to begin sailing in December 2016.

The longstanding tradition also calls for a "madrina" to preside over the coin ceremony. Serving in this role was Marnie Tihany, the director of business development for Tihany Design and the wife of Adam D. Tihany, the prominent hospitality designer who is heading the design for Seabourn Encore.

The ship will expand and build on the line's Odyssey-class ships, with a high ratio of space per guest, enabling personalized service by close to one staff member for each guest on board. The ship will be configured with one additional deck and new expanded public areas, and is expected to carry 600 guests, based on double occupancy. In addition, every suite will have a private veranda.
