Silversea Launches Seven Mid-Voyage Land Tours

Kangaroo IslandSilversea Cruises has launched seven new mid-voyage land trips among the extension of dozens of lands trips avaialble for 2011. Over one or multiple days, these inland adventures will introduce guests to the local people, history, wildlife and natural attractions outside of the port areas.

Highlights include explorations through Australia, Andorra, the Scottish Highlands and Russia, in addition to Antarctica, South Africa and Brazil. Among are favorites is Kangaroo Island Eco Expedition at $4,799 per guest on Silver Shadow's January 19 sailing from Sydney, featuring - of course - kangaroos, Cape Barron Geese, koalas and sea lions. Also, we love Solovki -- Pearl of the Russian North, as part of Silver Cloud's July 30 trip from Copenhagen, at $1,299 per guest, featuring Big Solovetsky Island, once a former Soviet gulag, now known as the "Pearl of the Russian North."
