Royal Caribbean International has announced that it must cancel the March 30, April 4, April 7, April 11, April 16 and April 21 sailings of Empress of the Seas to allow additional time for renovations.
Royal Caribbean announced the ship would rejoin its fleet following a stint with sister brand Pullmantur. Originally scheduled to debut in March, Empress of the Seas will offer short Caribbean cruises from Miami.
The ship is at the shipyard receiving new enhancements before officially rejoining Royal Caribbean, including the Voom high-speed Internet service, new pools and whirlpools, and the steakhouse Chops Grille.
As an alternative, guests may rebook on select Royal Caribbean sailings, in like accommodations or any other sailing at prevailing rate. Guests who choose the rebooking option will receive an onboard credit. Guests that choose not to rebook will receive a full refund of their cruise fare paid.
